RECORD KEEPING
Both the Fair Labor Standards Act and the Washington Minimum Wage Act contain certain basic recordkeeping requirements. Employers should keep records for at least three years, which include the name, gender, home address, date of birth (if under 19), occupation, time of day and day of week on which work week begins, hours worked each day and hours worked each week (non-exempt employees only), all inclusions and exclusions from the regular rate, total straight time and overtime earnings and deductions from earnings, and the date of payment, amount of payment and period included in each payment.
