1.1 INTRODUCTION
The purpose of this chapter is to summarize briefly the alternative business entities that can be used for doing business in Washington State. We will briefly explain the principal characteristics of each type of entity and the advantages and disadvantages of each in terms of administrative burden, tax implications, and legal liability of the owner of the business. The following types of entities will be discussed:

4. Washington Corporation
5. Washington General Partnership or Limited Partnership
6. Washington Limited Liability Company or Limited Liability Partnership
